Why has my internet gone down?

Why did my internet explorer opened a bunch of random websites when I was gone?

  • I just came home, and I had it switch user, and when I typed in my password and logged in, there was 3 internet explorers opened on the TigerDirect website. I didn't go on tigerdirect before I left and I rarely use Internet Explorer since I use Firefox. I decided to check the history for internet explorer, and for "Today", a bunch of random websites were listed which I never went on before. Is my computer infected with a virus and how do I stop this from happening again?

  • Answer:

If your not running a reliable anti-virus software you almost certainly have some form of malware. Specifically one that probably tries to make money for its authors by causing browsers to click on advert links. Go buy or download yourself some anti-virus, AVG have a free product as does Microsoft with Forefront.
