How can I stop hacked emial account from sending messages?

A few weeks ago, my live account was hacked. I closed the account, but a few days after, it sent more bogus messages! How can I totally get rid of my email even after I've closed it?

This happens alot...usually a win 32 backdoor Trojan or bot is placed on the computer by going to unsecured sites or visiting a website that has a Malicious URL code built in for anyone clicking on the website....your e-mail has not been hacked...nor do you need to change your password (but that is up to you).....but the infection(s) must be removed...download and scan with these two free utilities....and when you download malwarebytes...it will ask you for a free trial to the paid pro version...just click "no thanks"...the free version works just as well.... http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html

Change the password immediately, then change the security question, then change the secondary e-mail address (if any) to an address you own.

i recond they know your secret question and reopened it change your pass and secret question
