What are the difference between Norton AntiVirus and Symantec AntiVirus?

Need help with Symantec Antivirus Removal?

  • Removed Symantec Antivirus 9 using "add/remove programs" but it still appeared in the tray...even though it was gone from "add/remove". Tried using the Norton Symantec Antivirus Removal Tool, but it said I had to remove the program using "add/remove" before it would remove it. Went in safe mode and deleted symantec folder, but now when I right click on anything...it says it is "installing symantec antivirus". Any ideas on how to get rid of this completely? Switching to Avast.

I am having the same problem. I haven't fixed it; however, I am certain that the 2 previous answers will not help. Both are referring to using the Norton Removal Tool, which does remove numerous Norton products. As you & I are all too aware, it doesn't remove Symantec Anti-virus. I will update you when I find the solution. I'm pretty confident that I will find it; however, it's not something I will be working on steadily as the pc with this problem is at my parents' home--not mine.

don't use add / remove !!!!!! go on goolge and use norton's free removal tool.com each product is listed find urs and use the tool
