Why does the connection break when I kill a process on remote host?

DEP(Data Execution Prevention)Prevents opening host process?

  • I have HP Pavilion DV9704TX.OS is Windows Vista Home Premium.I have wireless internet connection and i use wireless LAN to connect.Recently i installed service pack 1 on my laptop.Whenever i switch on bluetooth to connect to internet i get a message something SSDP Discovery Stopped working and then "Host Process for windows Services stopped working and was closed" and i have to end the procss. Then i get the message that DEP has stopped the process to due to security reasons. The network icon on right side of the taskbar shows that there no internet connection. When i point cursor on it,it shows "Connection Status:Unknown Service to detect this status is turned off" Whenver i open Network and Sharing Center,it is written "No such interface supported" and under sharing and discovery tab, everything is off except password protected sharing and Network Discovery.Network Discovery is set as custom. If i try to change anything system hangs and explorer restarts or doesnot respond. But iam able to connect to internet and also from the time i installed SP 1,system has slowed down drastically.

  • Answer:

go to computer properties and find the tab with DEP then you can add the process that wont work on the exception list and DEP will leave that process alone that should get you running again
