How do I retrieve a URL in Java?

Is this a browser redirect or legit URL for Java?

  • I installed the newest Java update today 6 Update 21. I went directly to java.com to do so. But I noticed in my internet connections the following url along with java.com (I'm putting some spaces here so nobody accidentally clicks on it) sunmicro-2. vo.llnwd.net so is this a malicious redirect?

  • Answer:

The real Java site is http://www.java.com/en/. I don't get directed to the site you mention. Does not seem good to me, and that site does not work for me.

seems real Java is made by Sun Microsystems

llnwd.net appears to be registered to Limelight Networks Inc., a content delivery company which is used by many legitimate websites. sun microsystems are probably using their sevices!

sunmicro-2. vo.llnwd.net Sun Microsystems makes Java and vo.llnwd.net could be someone that works with Java be careful though. *UPDATE* After doing some more research it seems vo.llnwd.net is just a server used to host many things by many different companys. However even clean and safe things can have viruses with them even without the company knowing.
