How can I access file in localhost?

In dire need of help: I cannot access any of my file folders...?

  • (Note: I am a complete newbie when it comes to these matters, I apologize in advance if this has been addressed before, but I am very desperate for some answers, as I have yet to find any help elsewhere) My flash drive (iPod) was recently infected by several viruses, including mabezat. I downloaded a trial version of avast! anti virus and ran a virus check; it found a lot of infected files and automatically fixed (deleted?) all of them. Well, now whenever I try to open any file folder on my iPod I get a prompt message denying me access. When I right click and check for file size, all my file folders appear to be 0b and completely empty, yet my iPod`s storage capacity is still almost maxed out... in other words, even though the folders are empty, they are still taking up as much space as before. I just ran another virus check and it says my iPod is now clean, but that brings me very little solace, as now the vast majority of my files seem to be deleted... Is there any way I can have access to any of the files on my file folders, or are they gone for good? Also, even though the antivirus software says everything is alright now, I am pretty sure the mabezat worm is still there, as mysterious files continue to appear on my iPod every time I access or refresh it. I have already tried to get rid of Mabezat several times but to no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Run a full system scan and clean/delete all infected file(s) 5. Delete/Modify any values added to the registry. [how to edit registry] Navigate to and restore the following registry entries to their original values, if required: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\W… \”ShowSuperHidden” = “0″ 6. Exit registry editor. 7. Find and delete the following files: - %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\tazebama.dl_ - %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\hook.dl_ - %UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\zPharoh.exe - %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\tazebama.dll - [DRIVE]:\zPharaoh.exe - [DRIVE]:\autorun

Download and install Malwarebytes (link below) then, without connecting the iPod, start up in 'Safe Mode' (keep tapping F8 at start-up) and run a full/complete scan fixing any problems and re-start. Connect the iPod and scan that in the same way. If you still have 0b on the iPod, open Avast and look in the 'Chest' portion of the program. There's a chance that Avast mis-read the files and quarantined them!
