How to get rid of divx?

I'm trying to uninstall divx and it isn't working. it will go to the uninstall window but it won't load and it freezes my control panel screen. when i tried deleting the files to the divx program, it says i need permission and i'm the administrator.

don't uninstall it, divx is like a video codec, it lets you watch video files encoded with divx why are you uninstalling it anyway?
