What EXACTLY can somone do with my Ip Adress?

  • I want to know what ECACTLY somone can do with my ip... i have avg Free antivirus I do play A game called runescape And somone recently got my ip I would like to know everything they could do with my ip Could they crash my computer like i heard they can? can they key log me?? can they hack my account? Can they harm my computer at all?

Not much unless you have zero security. IP addresses change frequently anyway, so don't worry about it.

you can't really do anything with an IP address. it's mostly just a joke that h4x0rs (hackers) use to mess around with newbs. pretty much the only thing they can do is find out the general area in which you live in and what internet provider you have.

If your service provider assigns your IP using something called DHCP, you change IP addresses every so often anyway. If you have a firewall set up, you can have your system look for unexpected inbound traffic and stop it. However, you might need what is called "stateful inspection" to be able to do that and I'm not familiar with AVG features.

Nothing really, except find out what city you live in.
