What are pop-ups in my computer?

My computer keeps having these popups come up on the desktop with the extension ".exe" sayin bad image? IDK!?

  • What should I do? Should I download some type of software because I heard that anti-spyware messes it up more. It says something like globalroot/systemroot/system32 or soemthing like that. These popups are SOOO irritating. I need something free that will remove these popups.

  • Answer:

Well, since .exe is the extension usually used in applications, I'd say that one of your apps has been corrupted. Search for whatever the computer is saying is a bad image with Windows Search (or Spotlight if your on a Mac). Uninstall whatever is bad (if it's and app) or just delete the file. This could also be the result of a virus or spyware. If you don't have any anti-virus software, I suggest this program: For PCs: http://www.avast.com/ For Macs: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-antivirus-mac-edition.html If you don't know HOW to uninstall programs or you just can't uninstall that file, I suggest this program: http://www.ccleaner.com/ (It's only for PCs).
