It is blocked for a reason. The computers belong to the school, not to you, so the school has the right and responsibility to limit what they can be used for. Among other things, they have to protect their computers from infection, which is often spread through email. How would you feel, for instance, if you had a friend over, and you told him/her not to visit a site because you knew that it was infected; but he/she went ahead and visited the site anyway? You could get into a lot of trouble if you get caught circumventing their security. There are ways that they can find out about what you are doing if they have a need to do so. Are you really willing to risk it just to check your email a little sooner? Just wait until you get home from school and check it then.
