How do I lock a folder in my computer so only I can open it?
-
I have a removable hard drive that I keep private things like financial records and such. I don't want to lock my whole hard drive I just want to lock that folder. Is this possible?

Answer:
Take a look at TrueCrypt.org.... You can encrypt you whole drive or make a container which you mount with TrueCrypt. A container is a file that is an encrypted volume... TrueCrypt works great...I have a rather small (30MB) container I keep some things in I don't want others to get at like PGP keys and some financial things.....Then I can back that file up to an online service or other media if I wish... Take a look..I think it will be what you need

One point about TrueCrypt is that it doesn't actually lock folders, just files. In my own research, I settled on SensiGuard because I found it much easier to use than any other program, and yes, it locks folders, files and flash drives.
