Why Won't My YouTube Password Work?

Why does my password not work 25% of the time?

  • I have the exact same password, and I KNOW it's my password, and I KNOW I type it in correctly. 25% of the time, it will prompt me to re-enter my password. Since it does that often, I hit every letter deliberately and exactly, and I KNOW that I've typed in the right password. I do it over and over, slowly, fast, regular, whatever, and it won't let me log in. Then it will start making me type in letters from the security captcha, so I have to do that every time and keep trying to log in when I KNOW it's the right password. So I will go to "forgot password", and then I will "change" it to the same password, and then it sometimes will and sometimes won't work, even right after I've changed it. Then it'll work ok for a while, other than when I type it in too fast, but then out of the blue, once again, it will start refusing to let me log in no matter how many times I type it in or how I type it in, and I'll have to reset it all over again to get into the account. This has happened on at least Yahoo and YouTube. Why is that?

  • Answer:

Probably because you misspell it 25% of the time.

Other answers

Although you seem pretty adamant that you are spelling it correctly, misspelling it is the only solution. Log In systems can't make errors, only you can.
