HELP!!! I need to delete an administrator account on my school computer! (a mac)?
-
My school computer is very managed by the school, but I have found a way to hack into it through single user mode and made a new account that is an admin. Today, I tried to un-check the "Allow this account to administrator this computer" on the school's administrator account in system preferences, and it checked itself back. Not only did it do this, but it prevented me from taking away accounts and un-checking the "Allow this account to administrator this computer" box. This could lead to some baaaad stuff... so please help me out!

Here are option we use at home but not sure if theyare applicable to a mac, give it a read and see what you think. TRY THE FOLLOWING I AM SURE ONE OF THE OPTIONS WILL WORK FOR YOU. OPTION ONE: Lets start by seeing if we can get your old user account back. You will need to be logged in with an account that has administrative powers. Right click My Computer and click Manage. In the window that loads expand the Local Users and Groups category in the left pane and then select Users. Now once you are here, right click the user that is locked out and go to properties. From here you should be able to unlock, disable/enable accounts. If your account is truly locked out, this is how you would unlock it. OPTION TWO: restart your computer in safe mode -administaror account click "start"-"run", type "control userpasswords2" hit enter you will get a new window select your user name click on "reset passwords" button restart your computer in your normal user account OPTION THREE: Remove Login Password Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security Settings/Minimum Password Length/Reduce it to 0 (No password required). Control Panel/User Account/Your Account/Remove Password. OPTION FOUR: Direct Bootup Without Typing Password 1. At a command prompt, type "control userpasswords2" and press Enter to open the Windows 2000-style User Accounts application. 2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box and then click OK. 3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start your computer.
