How to unblock site blocked using hosts file?

I blocked a site by going into Windows>system32>drivers>ect>hosts i then type 127.0.0.1 sitename.com NOW, i want to unblock the site but i cannot access it. I deleted the line from the hosts file, deleted the WHOLE file, made a new one ect. still cant connect to the site! help! note: i am in 64 bit windows 7, but i only editted the file in the folder mentioned, nothing in sysWOW64 was changed or anything

weird try ping on the command line, see if the site now resolves to the correct ip address. maybe it's down. maybe you need to reboot, or restart your network connection, but I thought it took effect immediately
