How do i make internet explorer not start in full screen mode?

Internet Explorer and Mozilla Keep Being Redirected...What do I do!?

  • I recently had the big of my computer screen going black and wasn't able to load anything. I took it to get repaired. It loads fine now, but the problem now is Internet Explorer and Mozilla keeps redirecting me to random websites on google. Both programs are very slow. Im very frustrated Ive tried everything! Malwarebytes isnt catching any problems, but Avast! keeps bringing up these three "threats": C:\Windows\explorer.exe C:\Windows\System32\wininit.exe C:\Windows\explorer.exe Why there are two explorer.exe I dont know. When I trying moving or repairing the threats it keeps saying "error:read only file". I dont know what to do anymore! I had gotten rid of the redirecting virus before and didnt have it for a few months. But ever since I went on Fandango and caught the virus to make my computer screen stay black it hasnt been the same. The thing doesnt want to go away and it is very annoying! What can I do? Does anyone have any suggestions? I've already ran in safe mode and everything. HELP!

  • Answer:

You have multiple infections on your PC. One is a bog standard virus that Avast! should be able to remove or quarantine. The other is the "Search Redirect Virus". This is a totally different kettle of fish and Avast! cannot detect or remove it due to the way it infects your system. Avast can detect viruses that use processes or run software designed to do damage to your system. This is why it brings up those threats, because it believes that they are dangerous. However, the Redirect Virus actually infects a system file. This allows it to evade this kind of detection by your anti virus, whilst still causing the redirects. The system file in question is the one used by the web browser to process redirect requests. Such requests are normally made once you click a link on a search engine. The virus intercepts this process to direct you to the hackers website, instead of the desired link. This will then, in turn, redirect you to a random website, usually an advertisement. This process is longer than the norm, so your system will run mark able slower than usual. The best way to remove this virus would be to use a piece of software called ComboFix. This is an excellent program at removing this infection as I have used it many times myself. You will need a tutorial, and one which I always use can be found here: http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/spyware/how-to-remove-the-google-redirect-virus/

Download Comodo Antivirus, and after it is done installing and requests to shut down the computer, boot into safe mode, update the virus database, and run a full scan. This program is extremely good for things like this.

Scan your system with Avast free & reginout to see for errors. They will fix it for you.

You Need to Reinstall Windows in Safe Mode. Those Files are HUGE on Windows and it Looks like it Got Infected... Bad websites lately Huh? :O im telling!! JKJK

I recommend a cold start shut the computer down and leave it off 30 sec. then restart and press F8 remember pick with arrows keys safe-mode with networking login to windows when it come up and go to download.com and download Malwarebytes it will install in safe mode and run do the updates for it and do a full scan then go to eset.com and do their free online virus scan.
