How do i find out my user name on my pc lock?

my computer has a user lock which is one of those that you must push ctrl alt dlt then type in ur user name nd password but my user name was one of those that dosnt make sence like //Pt.htr/ (i never bothered in knowing wat it was because my comp saved it every timei swich off) but one day i swiched on my comp and the user name was erased how do i find out wat it was again (i know my password)

Boot it up with a live Linux CD, mount the hard drive and cd to C:/Users or Documents and Settings. The directories there correspond to the user names.
