How do I uninstall the AVG free anti virus 2011 toolbar?

Possible to install avg 2011 with avast already on system?

  • I use both (don't have anything scanning in real time). Find that I need both, since one seems to find virus' that the other one misses. While zonealarm virus scanner is completely useless :) I run a scan once a week with both. Normally use the right click menu to scan files manually. Obviously I could uninstall avast, then install avg and reinstall avast, but seems like a bit of a pain in the ***. But if that is what it comes down to, then no real choice I guess.

    I would recommend that you keep Avast! (Better detection than AVG2011). Yes, you can definitely install avg 2011 with avast already on the system but if you do not uninstall it before your next computer boot-up, the two anti virus will work against each other. This usually causes your system to freeze from boot time(Before or during the startup of the desktop(explorer).) I recommend you if you were to not keep avast or find avg less than your standard, Paid ESET Nod32-it's worth the money. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.(paid has realtime and website protection) SuperAntiSpyware(Realtime is a bit useless, just use for on-demand scanning) ZoneAlarm FIREWALL free or if you can afford it, pro. If you still find yourself paranoid, install a cloud antivirus along with the set i mentioned e.g. Cloud Antivirus(Panda Security's Free Cloud Antivirus). A cloud antivirus uses 'the cloud', which is the internet to connect to it's web servers where the threats are analysed and given protection against, adding on to your other security products with close to no inference between them. AVG used to be very good and still is, but cannot be compared to Avira or Avast.

If you don't have anything running in real-time, why? Why not stop stuff before it gets on your computer? Avast is much better than AVG. Keep Avast, add Malwarebytes or something similar.

I recommend you that don't use both of them together. If you are not facing windows problem now you will face the windows problem later. I prefer using just one internet security that contain all of protection featured like Anti virus & Anti Spam & Firewall & ... like Eset NOD32 Smart Security Business Edition . Good Luck.

Friend i think you use only one for better quality, and i m using symantec antivirus and its great, you can use symantec.
