How does a person know if their account has been hacked?

My youtube account was hacked and I know the person in real life that did it?

  • About a year ago my youtube account was hacked and I got someone I know to admit that they were the ones that hacked it what do I do. I want to file something I'm not sure who to contact.

    If you are trying to get money, you would have to prove damages. If you are trying to send them to jail, you would have to get someone in law enforcement to give a crap. Just forget about it. It's a waste of time.

i don't exactly think that you NEED to contact something..... maybe the owners of youtube? (if that's what you mean by "file")

Change login and password. You need to prove i.e hard evidence that the person did it. No point accusing others and the person denied it later muhaha. Ya might will look like a fool infront of everyone.

First, get irrefutable evidence. Word will get you nowhere. Then contact an attorney who specializes in privacy law. The whole process will require subpoenas to the accused ISP and YouTube's logs in order to establish guilt. If the accused ISP and YouTube even still have those logs. Waiting a year to act sure won't do you any good in court.

Try contacting an attorney ... Hacking is against the law . You are a Victim . The person can be prosecuted .
