Servers: Any piece of hardware (hardware is an actual/physical machine as opposed to software, which are the applications in the machine). What are servers used for? They are mostly used for storing data, such as your e-mail. Most web sites, such as facebook, run on a server. Proxy Servers: These are like regular servers, but it is mainly used for requests. That way, your system is more secure. They can also be used on websites to cache (a way of "transparently" storing information to access quickly in the future). These are some complex terms. server is big computer ,where are stored sites we are viewing on our computers (including this one).what is internet?many computers connected,so if you want to see what is on other computer,that computer must be connected to your to see what is inside.when somebody make site like this one,he upload site to server which is one big computer,who stores many sites and is always online and site owner doesn't have to be connected to see his work(site).Proxy server is Internal server,and usually big companies use this to connect company computers,so other internet users cannot see those computers through internet,for security reason and easier collaboration
