Can anybody hack into my computer through my IP address, got from Yahoo Messenger?

Please help. I am scared?

  • I am 13 and on my other yahoo I talked about how I was on a chatting website and this guy asked for my yahoo messenger and I told him. He was on there and being perverted so I said I was gonna delete him and block him which I did. On the chatting website he talked to me and said he knew my IP address and that he would put viruses on my computer and send my e-mail to bad people because he got mad. And on my other yahoo when I asked about the same thing people said he was lying and didn't have my IP address. But when I went on the chatting website again today (not talking to guys only girls so they couldn't be perverts) I realized that when someone entered the chat it would show it on the main chat and next to that have their host name or IP address. But anyways back to the story. He said he would send my parents an e-mail (I don't know what it was going to be about) unless I would webcam him. I didn't though. That's when I told my mom. She just said that he was lying about the IP thing even though he wasn't because my IP address was there on the website. Ugh I feel so stupid. I know that he knows it and he can find my town, my state, my phone number, my real address, my e-mail, etc. if he had the motive. And he was really mad. And now this is sort of scaring me a bit. What can I do to stop this? I have a windows firewall and virus protection, comodo antivirus protection and BitDefender antivirus 2009. Will this be good?

    If you have his IP address yahoo messenger name, or report him to your local police force, explaining that you were threatened that unless you used your webcam with him, he was going to get your address and personal information and send your info to "bad people". Good rule of thumb, you're only 13, don't go into chats that show IP addresses and don't give out your private screen names, or create one solely for chatting. I know, I sound like a crazy old person, and I did the same stuff you do when I was 13, but now, 6 years later, the internet isn't as safe. He can track down your location using your IP address, so can anyone else if you use any forums that show that. Get an IP masker. By the way, perverts aren't only males. Look at that little girl who was raped and killed by a woman. And two, there is no way to verify that you're talking to a girl, it can always be a 50 year old pervert girly name or a photo of a girl he's passing off as himself with a trying to gain your trust. Be careful.

every time u connect to the internet u allways get a new ipaddressec or how the hell will the network providers manage so many ips they keep reissuing it 2 computers coming online from computers going off line dont panic in case it is still troubling u y not log into chat n see ur ip address then do it again i feel u will get another ip still scared confide 2 ur parents u r young n they sure will protect u though they might give u a little shouting but i dont think that person can do ne harm other than that perverts r veery where even guys talking 2 u as girls choose ur chat mates after a little thought :) happy chatting kid

No one can find your exact location or your personal information with your IP address (they could find your city or county at best). The police can do it if they're researching a crime but no one else can. No one can use the IP address to send you any viruses or programs, or access any of your personal information. There's no way to find out anyone's email address with it. So basically, you ran into a seriously creepy perverted guy who was lying to you in order to get you to do a webcam chat with him. You blocked him and now there's nothing he can do about it. Nothing to worry about now.

Don't worry most of these people don't have the balls to go to someones house and actually do something, it might be some old skinny jerk just messing around. You ip Only shows your city and state. He has no kind of access to your phone number or your address. Don't worry

The guy who scared you is lamer . No need to worry .. comodo antivirus protection and BitDefender antivirus 2009 are really good to protect you from viruses and all. yes it's very easy to find the details via IP but that guy is unethical and has comitted crime by harassing you . Anyways back to story you can just turn off the internet for some time and can relax and you IP would change when you would login next time .. :) Hope that helps !!

Nancy, go to www.fbi.gov and find the number to your nearest field office. Have you or your mom explain the situation. Tell them you are reporting the "attempted production of child pornography" If he is blackmailing you into producing a webcam show and you are 13, he could get 25 years. Don't tell him you are doing this and stop chatting, it's rough out there.
