How do I get rid of quarantined files on my computer?

I need to get some files off my computer that got a virus attack. Help!!?

  • My computer got a virus attack, and at this point I'm going to have to reboot it from the original CD. However, I do have just a couple of files I REALLY need to get off of there to save. When I log on though, within two minute the computer is shutting itself down, and during that two minutes anything I try to do the computer locks up. Is there any other way I can get to those critical files to burn to a CD before I restore the computer? I tried "Safe mode" where it is DOS commands but I couldn't figure out how to get to the files. I don't understand DOS. Thanks for any help!

    download a linux slax disk. burn to a disc. change your bios settings to boot from disk first. get a usb memory stick, although ypu could use an mp3 player for this. boot slax, go into c drive and get the files you need, copy paste to memory stick.

i don't think you have virus ,could be sounds like overheating if your not comfortable working inside your pc the take to a pc technician if you like open the case ,take of cpu fan & check that there your cpu is firmly stuck in place and that the fan is working if in doubt about cpu put paste on put back in place put on fan & boot

open in safe mood with command prompts type help it will give all the commands you need , ( make sure you know the directory off all the files you need to save ) and save them to usb stick or floppy as i don't think you can put them on cd from dos hope that helps

Have you tried Safe Mode with networking. Just make sure your internet is off. If these arent big files i suggest you try to back them up to a flash drive (USB DRIVE) Also google malawarebytes it works great and free to download.

I bought some virus software, UNPLUGGED my internet connection, and installed it,and ran it, good as new!
