How do I clear links that have been clicked from google search?

Google/search redirect problem?

  • I don't know if this problem exists with other search engines because I've only used google. Every once in a while, whenever I search for something, I get redirected when I click on the link. The links are familiar and trusted sites so they are not the problem. The redirected sites usually will be related to my search. For instance, I was searching for a coupon and clicked on the link to a familiar site but it took me to "groupon" site instead. On a couple of occasions it tried to take me to some 64.111 site or something that firefox warned me was an attack site. When the redirects first happened I researched it and found some useful info but put it off until later to deal with it. Now I don't recall the info or how to get it. Could anyone help me? It doesn't happen often but I'd like to get rid of it before it gets worse. Yesterday I ran my anti-malware program in safe mode and it got rid of some cookies and a few trojans. But apparently it didn't help with this redirect problem.
