My browser cannot connect to the internet.

Why won't my browser connect to the internet?

  • I recently had a virus, or at least a massive trojan, on my computer. It was one of those which pretend to be a Security Center and want you to buy a version because your computer is horribly infected, and it clogs up everything else otherwise. Well I ran Malwarebytes and Spybot Search & Destroy and the problems seem to be fixed. At least there is nothing popping up at me about how my computer is going to die. However, now none of my browsers will connect to the internet. The computer itself is connected to the internet, and I am able to use such tools as Skype and uTorrent, but all of the browsers say that there is no connection. My primary browser, Chrome, says, roughly: Error 102, ERROR_CONNECTION_REFUSED Since I am able to access internet through other tools, I'm guessing this is just something left over from the virus I had earlier. Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this or at least figure out how to? Thanks and let me know if you need any more information.
