How can I become a model?

• I have always hated being tall...i just turned 13 and i'm 5'8'' and a girl. The only thing I can think of that is useful to be tall is modeling.. I told my mom I wanted to be a model and she said okay. The closest place anear my town is toronto or sudbury. Subury is 2hrs. away and Toronto is 5hrs. away. Anyways, I sent in an application for 3 model agencies.. and they have all called back. Just from getting the calls I have became more outgoing. I am a REALLY shy person cause im so insecure about how tall i am. After getting the calls (no one answered the phone, they just left a message) my mom said that I can't be a model and agencies accept everybody and that's the only reason I got in and that she wouldn't ever drive me that far just so I could be a model. But she said before they called back that I could be a model! and i'd be so much more confident with myself being one..could someone please tell me the closest agency to Strugeon Falls, Ontario? or tell me how I can convince my mom

  It's a hard business to get into and you'll get rejected over and over and over again. But, if you want to do it, then go ahead. But, modeling will be a lot of work and it'll cost a ton of money and time. And that's IF you get accepted! You'll want to get headshots (about $400-900 depending on where you go, or if you do them yourself, sign the bottom of the picture) before you even walk into a modeling agency. (dress to impress, no jeans!!!)
