Prom advise needed! :)?
-
“Prom girls” out there, I have a slight dilemma! lol. Basically, I have been home schooled through high school, so I never gave any thought to the idea of prom what-so-ever. And then it happened! Yesterday, one of my best friends (a guy who I’ve liked for a long time), asked me to his prom in May. I said yes, but because of the whole I’ve-never-given-any-thought-to-it thing, I really have no idea how I’m supposed to dress to this thing. So, here’s what I need advise on! Dress: I know it’s formal, but does anyone dress causual-ish to prom? (I know that’s a bad question, but my one friend thinks I should just wear something more casual.) Do the majority of girls *really* dress up? I have a dress I own, but I don’t know if it’s not fancy enough or too fancy. There’s a pic on this website (it’s the purple dress on the right, and it’s floor-length): http://www.sears.ca/product/jolietm-mc-halter-chiffon-cocktail-dress/648-000148908-7328F11?campaign=rr_item_ClickCP_0_5 Hair: I never do anything with my hair. My hair just covers my neck (so it’s medium/short) and is in shorter layers around my face (around my chin in length). Are there any hairstyles that work with my length of hair? I’m not sure if this length of hair can be “done up” or not; I’ve never tried! Lol. :/ Also…. A friend of mine said something about hair appointments on prom day and booking ahead…. But she doesn’t know “how much ahead.” Lol. Eeep. I know I must sound like a stereotypical sheltered home-schooler, but I’ve never had any friends who really had an interest in prom (including myself until now lol). Any advise, anyone, or anything I should know?? Thanks!! :D

Answer:
I couldnt get your link to work for the dress. but i think you should go all out and dress up in a floor length dress and get your hair/make up and nails done =) Make yourself feel gorgeous for the day! A nice upstyle might be nice.. or half up half down with loose curls. I would imagine you would need to book your hair etc appointments 2-3 weeks in advance to be safe.

I think that dress is fine - it's pretty :) For your hair, keep it simple enough so you're not bothered by it all night. You need some jewelry, though, like a pretty necklace (sparkly is best) and matching earrings. Rings are also nice. I would not wear a bracelet because you could lose it or it could fall off while you dance. Shoes: make sure that they are either super comfy (but dressed up), or you can also take them off when you start to dance (that's what most girls do because dressy shoes hurt too much to dance in). Just be yourself and don't overthink everything :) It should be a really fun night (I know my prom was super fun). Good Luck and HAVE FUN!!! :D
