My skin SUPER oily and SUPER red!!! help?

Oily skin please help??!?

  • okay so my skin is very very oily. i went to the dermatologist for it and she perscribe me differen gel which made my skin even more oily..she also said that if my skin is still oily after using this product then i should buy a benzoyl perioxide fash wash. does anybody know a good benzoyl perioxide fash wash that WONT DRY OUT MY SKIN? i would rather not have to buy anthing so if there is some natural things i could do? i will wash my face in the morning and it will be oily free then 6 hours later when i get home from school...my face is extrememly oily!! is there anything i could do to prevent this beside blotting sheets bc those are really annoying to have to go into the bathroom all the time and do..thanks!

  • Answer:

use a soft peel every evening, that dries out your skin, if your skin still is oily, u should try a peel thats even harsher.

Have you tried a light dusting of talcum or baby powder? I have a friend who does that every morning and then again when she gets in from school. I don't know about the facial wash you mentioned... but making sure that your makeup remover, facial cleanser and moisturiser (if you use any of these) are water-based an not oil-based, may help. I hope this helps. Best of luck!!!

i'll tell you what i've found out with my oil skin: - when i'm not at school it's fine and i think this is because of the conditions at a school. being in a small rooms for almost 6 hours with another 20 or more people breathing and other things constantly is going to contribute. - using oil free products help heaps. trust me! - wearing less make-up helps too. - when possible don't wear make-up - eating healthy helps! i ate really healthy for two weeks straight with drinking lots of water and getting 8 hours of sleep each night. my skin was in the best condition! but i couldn't keep it up because i just can't live with out make up. - wearing a primer under make-up helps with oily skin - spritzing your face in the morning also helps with oily skin - keeping hair away from face and not touching your face through out the day - i know blotting sheets are very annoying! and they don't work for me either. i've heard of something called blotting powder which is supposed to absorb oil and i'm thinking of trying that - oily skin is caused by enlarged pores. i've tried to reduce the size of my pores so many times but nothing helped but eating healthy. so if you can find a cream that reduces the size of your pores and works you shouldn't have oily skin good luck!

Eggs whites are great to use on oily skin. just rub some on and let it dry. also, rinse with very cold water and do not over stimulate your skin by scrubbing. A better diet works. Add more fruit and fresh veggies. Smile, oily skin is less likely to wrinkle.

i have oily skin too,,, i use differen gel and i have a medication that drys my skin out slightly,, i use clean and clear continuous control it has benzoyl peroxide in it, it stung the first 3 -4 times i used it but now its fine. you can really feel it cleaning your skin. the packet looks like this. http://www.manekineko.us/catalog/images/product/Johnson_Johnson_Clean_Clear_Daily_Cleanser_enlarge.jpg goodluck,,xx

i would call the dermatologist and let him/her know that the differen is not working and ask for another cream . explain that the differen is causing more oil... things that may help at home would be to cut out any and all fried foods you eat.. drink a lot of water at least eight glasses a day and wash your face twice a day..in the morning and night.. i hope this helps :o)
