How should I do my makeup?

How can i deal with my mom not letting me allow to wear makeup until i'm like 16?

  • Well i've been getting upset over the past few months because my mom won't let me wear makeup. I asked her why, and she said because she doesn't want me getting the wrong attetion of boys, and doesn't want me to look ''adult-ish like''. Also, after we've talked about me wearing makeup, we got into a talk about molesting. I didn't ask for a whole bunch of makeup like eye shadow with mascara lip stick and all that stuff. I only asked for a very little tiny bit of eyeliner just for the day and i'll never wear it again. She still said no. I tried to ask in a nice voice and stop being a brat, and she ends up getting the belt and hitting me with it (don't worry it didn't really hurt or anything it was just THREATING) because i wouldn't stop talking about it. I know what your all wondering about, why do i want to wear makeup? Well, the answer to that question is sorta embarrassing but here it comes: Its because i just wanted to try it out and see how it looks like for the day, then i'll take it off. Also, because )X some of my friends are wearing it and so i was like ''Maybe i can try just very tiny bit.'' Uhm, my mom gets easily mad especially when i repeat things or ask her why a lot. So sometimes it hard to have a talk with her. I won't consider myself ugly, but sometimes a little weird especially my eyes cuz sometimes they have curls/rinkles under them and its kinda odd looking but it does go away later in the day. I tried my best, asking her for makeup but it just doesn't seem to work. So sadly, i have to deal with my moms rules no dating or makeup until im atleast 16 or likely 14. (around when i go to high school) But i don't want to wait that long because once i get into middle school, i'll start to see and meet older kids also known as teens, and they'll start wearing makeup and having cellphones out and stuff and that might get me even more to wanting to wear makeup. I'm not 10, or 12, or 9. I'm almost entering middle school. Were girls, so lets BE girls. So any advice/tips on how to deal with this and stop being upset?

I don't see any problem with TRYING it. But I would not allow my child your age to wear that makeup. Someone who isn't in middle school yet doesn't need eyeliner. The farthest I'd go is tinted moisturizer. I used to mess with makeup at home just for fun before I started wearing it for the day. Maybe while you and your mom are in a department store, you can ask the clerk to put some makeup on you just to see what it looks like, but then take it off. Good luck.

Well I am guessing you are 11 with the amount of info you gave. Anyways, 11 is still a young-ish age to wear make-up and you are not even in middle school yet. If you want to try eye-liner that is fine but still, at age 11 it's not the best option and you may look older than you are (which is not always a great thing :P ) . If you really want to try, ask a friend to bring their eyeliner and try it on at school and see how it looks and the reatcions you get. You might not want to push your luck with your mom, so you might want to wait another year maybe and then try again if you must.

I noe exactlly how u feel sweetie my mom was the same she was soo strict bout makeup but now I'm 15 and I wear some she let's mi I think it's still to young to wear makeup at ur age the first time I wore makeup was 7th grade and only once in a while not every day and I put a little just to see how it looked u should wait a little alot of boys like girls without makeup trust me Hun dnt worry sooner or later your gonna be wearing makeup and you will have a bf and go to prom but right now u should have fun and dnt worry about things like that okay sweetie:)

Advise to you: Honestly i wouldn't want to wear makeup. I wear it currently it, and honestly obsessed and dependant on it. So i wouldn't wear it. I'm in middle school and i let the peer presure of my friends and etc,.. get to me. Looking back i wouldn't start wearing it because im hooked now. So dont start.... put it off as long as possible.

Unless you dance or are in some other activity that requires you to wear stage makeup, you're honestly too young to wear it. I did dance from age 3, which means I wore makeup from then on until I quit, which was when I was 10. I had 7 years of makeup experience under my belt, but chose not to wear it when I was your age. I didn't start wearing it regularly until I was in 7th or 8th grade, which is a better time to start. But if you must, DON'T do it behind your mom's back, or she'll be even more angry. Instead, present to her a mature, adult reason why you want to wear it, and if she agrees, let her choose when she feels is appropriate. But really, you are not a woman, you are not a teen, you are a CHILD. So BE a child and have fun while you can. You don't need makeup at that age. Seriously.

start with one thing first, say u only want to wear blush or eyeshadow or mascara whatever. by listing one makeup product she won't feel like u are trying to be grown. then slowly start adding in everything else. it worked for me and now I can wear makeup as much as I want. I started with mascara if that helps

lol. cry about it.

bring it to school and put it on then. then before you come home, take it off.

know that you're beautiful. Feel confident and and you will look it.
