Answer:
If you are in a financially-able position and feel as though you could build a career out of it, learn to love it and be successful, then go for it. If not, then don't.

My best advice to you is to do it, I know you feel you want money to begin with, so did I, but I realized that it's the EXPERIENCE that will get you somewhere, so that eventually people will start paying you, because if you do a good job on both projects, just ask them to spread the word about you, the more good feedback you get, the better your chances are of getting paid work. And it would be a very good thing to put on your resume/CV. I spent some time with a qualified make up artist, didn't get paid for it despite helping out (with hair and such) I was there to gain advice, experience, and knowledge, and also to have fun! Also try not to worry about your brushes, I do wonder why you don't want to use them? Because as long as you take care of them, clean them (always) afterward, it'll be fine, and most make up artists are expected to use their own makeup anyway hun, the one I spent time with brought a HUGE case with her. Honestly, I know it'll be difficult to accept that you won't be getting paid at first, but it is so important to grab these opportunities despite that, so that you gain a good reputation and experience. I hope I helped in making your decision, good luck x
Noo ! You want to be a makeup artist !? Sure as helium , do it ! Lifes no fun without risks and adventure and have funn ! Lifes not all about money. Don't let a piece of paper stop you from going after your dreams ... Who knows, maybe you'll get more and more offers, one day become a millionaire ! You won't if you don't tale a risk . What can you lose ? What's the worst that can happen ? You get fired ? Oh sad, atleast you tried . The best of the best have failures , but the reason they became the best is because they where the ones that where brave enough to take a risk . (:
