What are some good curly hair haircuts?

What kind of haircuts and styles exist for curly hair? Pic inside?

  • I have a full head of curly hair and it's actually kind of geeky looking. I have Jewish genes so it's a hell of a lot of hair to deal with too! I like curls and I dont ant to damage them with straighteners, but it seems I run into so many problems with my hair, I can hardly do a thing to it or something starts happening to it. If I cut it short, it either looses or gains too much body. Or just turns into a pile of something I did not want it to turn into because I have no idea how it will react. Here's the link to what it looks like. http://s571.photobucket.com/albums/ss156/gasolinemind/?action=view&current=hair.jpg Im really bored with it. I wont dye or straighten it. Nothing to damage it.

Wow, as one curly head to another it looks great! I had long hair for years and yours looks fantastic, mine was always frizzy, and like you I didn't chemically process it in any way and took good care of it. My hair is fine (unusual for curly hair I'm told) but I've got masses of it so I do know what you're talking about. And unlike what most people think it's not like having a perm, my curls have a mind of their own as I'm sure yours do. I finally got tired of braids, buns, clips, hairbands and what not and chopped it all off. The hairdresser didn't even want to cut it as short as I told her. I do mean chop, from waist length to about 1 1/2 inches. I have a small face to now I keep it quite scupted. I don't need a ton of products and keep it just long enough that my hair has a slight curl but is manageable. My hairdresser also thins it out especially on top which seem thicker and grows faster than the side for some bizarre reason. When it was long the stylist used to layer it so that it would lay flatter, I'm not sure how much good it did but it did take some of the weight off. I know I'm not much help, but you do have my sympathy. People with straight hair just don't understand.
