How To Cut Hair?

How much hair should I cut off.....?

• Well, like the question said, I'm getting my haircut tomorrow but I don't have any idea of what I want to do. I'm fourteen and right now, my hair, when straightened, is a bit below my belly button. It's naturally wavy and pretty thick but not extremely thick...I straighten my hair pretty much everyday but it has barely any split ends (I use heat protectant daily!) but the bottom inch or so is pretty dry. My hair has been pretty long (below my chest or longer) for my whole life, but I am totally fine with cutting a lot of hair off. But, the shortest I'd go is about a inch below my shoulders. Since I have a appointment tomorrow, I need some opinions tonight if possible! Here are the questions I need answered; 1. What style? (Pictures would be great) 2. How much hair would be cut off? (I know you won't be able to answer 100% accurately, but guess please! My hair is just below my bellybutton) 3. Should I get some sort of bangs (I don't want straight across bangs though) 4. How can I get over the nerves of cutting my hair? I've actually never had more then a trim but this time I really want to cut a lot of hair off..
