Does NYC medicaid pay for International birth?

Does the father have to pay back medicaid if his name is on the birth certificate?

• I'm 30 weeks, 7 months, pregnant and on a type of medicaid insurance called Moms and Babies and on WIC, I plan on putting the father's name on the birth certificate. He has been to everything with me; setting up the insurance, WIC appointments and all my dr. appointments. He just recently turned 19 and is a full-time college student with a part time job that doesn't pay well. I'm going to be turning 19 at the end of march, I work 2 part time jobs and make more than double his pay each month which is roughly $200 each month for him. We both live in IL, we are unmarried but plan to get married in the future. We do not live together and are living with our parents since we graduated high school last spring. Now will he still be forced to pay back all the bills from my insurance and whatever WIC provides for us?

  Heavens, no! The coverage you receive from Medicaid is for the moment, so to speak. You could go on to become a wealthy person and would not have to pay back your Medicaid benefits.
