If I apply for disability will I get it?

I'm on maternity leave. When will I get my State Disability check?

Ok I'm from California and recently went on maternity leave; my disability officially started August 16th. I filled out my disability papers at my doctors office on Friday August 13, 2010. A week after that, I double checked with them if they mailed the form, they told me yes. I know there's a 7 calendar day waiting period cause they need to process the forms but If my disability started on Aug 16th how soon will I get my check? If you were in my situation how soon did you get yours?
