Can I have twins?

What are my chances of having twins and how can I increase my chances of having twins?

  • Obviously luck plays a big part in the chance of having twins. But, I was wondering how I could increase those chances? I also heard that part is hereditary. A little family history (if it helps): On my mothers side: My mother's mother's father (my great grandfather) had two sets of twin brothers and sisters. One of the twin sisters also went on to have twins. My mother's father was also the child of a twin. On my father's side he has twin cousins. And my aunt had fraternal twins (but they died after being born). That's all I know of... I really, really want to have twins. But natural. So if there are any REASONABLE ways to help conceive twins it would be really good to know! Thanks! ^_^

    I do not know an actual percentage, but it seems you have a good chance through hereditary ways. Unless you use a pill to enhance your pregnancy chances, there is no way to increase your chances. hope I helped. best of luck. 8)

i acctually googled how to concieve twints naturaly the other day and is heaps of info out there about it and could me old wifes tails but worth a shot

No one can tell what your chances may be, since your husband's heredity has to be factored in as well. You may have a slightly elevated chance, due to your family history. There is no natural way to increase your chanced. That can only be done by taking fertility meds like Clomid, or by IVF. Twins seem exciting and novel, but trust me: one baby is quite enough for a new mom! I also have a lot of twins in my family, and thought I wanted twins with my pregnancy. After a couple of weeks with my son, I was soooo relieved that I only had one! We'll see what happens the next time around, but I am so grateful for the healthy son that I got.
