What are some fun lunch ideas for kids?

well i may be too late on answering this but if so you could keep in mind for another special day My husband and i actually often take several little portions of things and make a 'buffet' so our 3 girls can pick and choose. they love this! Sometimes we just spread it out on the table, or sometimes we present it on the counter and they come to the 'restaurant' and place their 'order', we seat them and serve them their order. most often it has some healthy stuff and some treaty kind of things. eg sliced meat, crackers, cheese, raisins, apple slices, cheesies or chips, peanuts, pickles or olives, carrot or other veggie slices like celery, cucumber, pepper etc, devilled eggs, or hard boiled eggs, pretzels, cookies, popcorn, dip for veggies or even peanut butter...obviously not all at once- just depending on what we have on hand but you get the idea. My girls like to eat the healthy stuff anyways so I dont fret about them having a cookie with their meal the odd time as opposed to waiting until after- because they dont fill up on just junk, they take a bit of everything so there is no harm done there they love to ppick and choose! it turns out wwe are having one of these nights tonight.... chicken fingers, french fries, pickled onions, bread and butter pickles, nilla cookies, cold brown beans, apple slices, carrot stix and ranch dressing for dip

Does she like to cook with you? That makes pretty much any idea fun. It also depends on what she likes. How about crepes with fruit fillings. You guys could do everything together except actually cooking the crepes. Or a sundae bar is always fun. Banana splits or whatever she likes with sprinkles cherries whipped cream the works. Does she have a favorite food? I'd definitely incorporate that. My kids always loved picking the menu and filling it with their favorites. Mini make your own pizzas are easy and fun. Just buy pre made dough and the toppings you both like and you can make them together. Make different shapes, or make calzones (inside out pizzas), whatever you and she like. Also, going out can be fun too maybe she has a favorite restaurant? You could even get take out and go on a picnic to the park or zoo....or just have take out at home and watch a special movie. How about a picnic with her favorite foods outside in the back yard if its nice, or again, at the park or wherever. Again, work with her favorites and you'll come up with something fun the two of you can do together. Really, there's no topping having mom to yourself - whatever you two actually do is just gravy : )
