Can I still get pregnant if I have ovarian cysts?

What can I do to get rid of ovarian cysts so I can get pregnant?

  • I am frustrated and have had these for two years now. They come and go and usually don't get big enough for the doctor to ev er say it needs to be removed. But they are very painful and make my life very uncomfortable. I was told to get on birth control (loestrin) which I did for a few months and It seemed to clear everything up. Then I got married and stopped taking it so we could have another baby and I am concerned the cysts are causing issues. Should I even bother going to the doctor. WHat can they even do for me?

    After years of painful cysts (even when i was on the b/c pill) my GYN finally operated in August (laparoscopy). They will come back anyway as i have pcos. There is nothing other than taking b/c that will help prevent or get rid of them unless you have them removed. Even having them removed is not the best idea as scar tissue can further prevent pregnancy. If you find you have been trying for more than 12months you doctor can prescribe a fertility drug such as clomid to help you fall pregnant? Go and see a gynecologist and talk to him/her about it, they will decide what is best for your particular situation. Good luck.

Hi,its normal to get them but its when they hurt and you feel them burst is when the issues start,I started getting them in 2001,it was small and it went away it scared me to death, then on and off I would get them,I tried to concieve being with my x husband 17 years,but we found out he was infertile,so later on in 2005 we got a divorce,in 2007 I got another one,but this time it was 7 cm,I was like huh? Then they seen another one on my right,4 cm, they put me on a steriod instead of BC and it blew up to 13cm,I almost died,I had a lap done in august too,and he said I have endometreoasis,not in my uterus only in my ovaries,my tubes were clean too, its weird,Im trying now and I take my tempeture everyday to chart to see when and if I ovulate,so far I have,but Im still not pregnant,so I would tell you to get a lap,the reason is they can see endometreoasis only by a lap,and they can clean out all your cists,I guarentee you that you have a problem, tell your dr to get with the program,yes you can get pregnant,but if its endo,or pcos you have a lesser chance,and you need to find out, Good Luck
