  • Answer:

My husband and I were TTC naturally for 18mths and then took Clomid (days 2-6, 50mg) and conceived on the 1st cycle. After our daughter was born we TTC naturally for another 14months before taking Clomid again and I fell pg on the 2nd cycle. So it obviously did something to me! It is mainly used for women who have irregular ovulation - or none at all. However, I have "unexplained infertility" in that I do ovulate, have had 2 natural pregnancies which resulted in m/c and hubby's sperm count is fine etc but just wasn't getting pregnant. Apparently Clomid can select the best eggs so my ob/gyn thinks that perhaps the quality of my eggs was the reason for taking so long to conceive. It also can increase the number of mature follicles / eggs so you have more "targets" to shoot at. You need to be referred to an obstetrician via your GP. Side effects for me were intense ovulation pain and some moodiness which I don't normally get. But soooooo worth the end result! There are many more side effects but I guess, as with anything, you may or may not get them. It is important to be monitored closely on it. My ob/gyn also gave me ultrasounds to pinpoint ovulation which helped! Good luck - it really is an amazing drug for many.

You will need a complete fertility work up before a doctor will prescribe clomid. Clomid will help you ovulate if that is your problem.

clomid makes you fertile and may increase the chances of having more than 1 child. In order for you to get clomid you have to see a fertily doctor. clomid gives me headaches however you only have to take them for 5 days, starting on the 5 day from the 1st day of your cycle. the other side effect is having multiple kids.

It work for many ladies you can let your doc prescribe it for you Good luck........
