Missed period but negative pregnancy test?
-
my husband and i conceived in october and i got a positive result nov. 1. i miscarried nov 29. we have been trying to conceive again since christmas. my period is due today (my cycle is normally 31 days, today is 31) and I have a negative pregnancy test result. I am going to re-test in the morning because that is technically the day of my "missed period". If it is negative, should i get a blood test at the doctor? tomorrow is my grandma's bday. she has cancer and i know me conceiving again will brighten her spirits so i'd like to tell her tomorrow (if i am pregnant). i have fatigue and headaches and almost a missed period. those are my only symptoms. could i be pregnant even with a negative test 2 days ago and today?

Answer:
I think you are most likely not pregnant. Because by the time of a missed period, your body would have generated enough "baby horomones" that results the test positive. You are not pregnant because it takes two weeks to generate those horomones. who knows, you could be the few that must take a blood test to know for sure. It's just for me, all of my home results were positive. Keep trying, good luck.

It is possible that you could still be pregnant, but probably not likely. What I have found while TTC is that if I am thinking about it all month long or stress myself out thinking I could be pregnant the previous cycle I end up ovulating later than expected and therefore start my period later which once again gets me stressed out wondering why I am a week late and still getting negative tests. My best advice is to RELAX! I know it's hard not to think about it once you decide to start trying but it's the best way to keep your cycles predictable and not get worked up over a late period. I usually have 32 day cycles but once we started TTC and I was worrying about it and looking into every symptom my cycles starting being 42, 45, and 39 days long. Last month I decided to just relax, not worry about, and realize that it will happen in time. My cycle was a normal 28 days long and even though I didn't get pregnant, I felt much better knowing that I ovulated on time and had a normal cycle and didn't have to spend an extra week wondering why my period was late but I was getting negative tests. When I got pregnant with my daughter we had been TTC for 6 months and the month that I actually got pregnant we were so busy I had no time to think about it. I was 8 days late when I finally took a test and to my suprise it was positive! I had no idea and was sure that my period was going to start any day and it was just late because I had been so busy the past month. Good luck and I wish you the best!
