Negative pregnancy test before missed period?

Missed Period / Negative Pregnancy Test... TTC?

  • We have been TTC for close to a year and had a miscarriage in Nov. I am now 4 days late, but every pregnancy test I have taken is negative. My question is has anyone else got a negative pregnancy test days after their missed period and still ended up being pregnant? If so how many days after your missed period did you get a positive test? I had all the 'symptoms' of my period starting last week (cramps, bloating...) but it never started. I am still having very light cramping feelings, but they have tapered off a little and but over the last 5 days of so, I have had off and on light nausea. Thanks!

    I've never had this happen to me but I do know (from doing entirely too much googling of ttc stuff) that sometimes hcg doesn't metabolize into the urine as soon as it should so you may still have a chance wait a few days and take another test hcg should double every 2days in most normal pregnancies good luck honey :-)

I had light spotting ,around the time of period, took a test and it was neg. spotting continued for about 5 more days, I took another test and it was positive. I also felt like my period was on it's way, with the cramps, bloating, etc. My first child, I swore my period was coming, but 2 weeks later, I found out it wouldn't be coming for 9 months!!! :)
