Do ovarian cysts make it harder to get pregnant?
-
I recently found out that I a couple of cysts on my right ovary and multiple gal stones. The dr wants me to go every 3 months and get an ultrasound to make sure they aren't getting bigger and all that jazz. But me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months now. We are already blessed with one child but we feel its time for another. Of course we've had no luck. I was wondering if the cysts would make it harder to conceive? Or if its just not the right time? I've looked a little online about cysts and have gotten mixed reviews as to if it makes it harder or not. Some people said yes some said no. So I was wondering if anyone has had cysts and had problems getting pregnant or not? Please help

Hi. Robyn is right. I'd just like to add that I have cysts on my ovaries, and was diagnosed at the age of 18. I'm now 34, and expecting baby number 6. So stay positive! You already have one child, it's obviously possible for you to fall pregnant, which is great. It'll be your turn soon, I'm sure. It's good that you doctor is keeping an eye on you, they can be so dismissive sometimes. Good luck.

If the cysts are large enough they can secrete their own hormones which can suppress ovulation. If you are not ovulating then it will make conception impossible. Of course it is always possible that it's just not your time yet. 85% of couples who are trying to get pregnant will be pregnant within one year. I would use ovulation kits to make sure you're releasing the hormones to ovulate, but it's possible that the cysts are preventing that from happening.
i don't think so before i had my second baby sorry for wat ima say. i was having sex like a bunny and i had a cyst and it popped i knew it popped since this green goo was coming out the next day. right after that i got pregnant. if it happened to me it can to u and any other woman
Hello! If you have a cysts, it's an indication that there may be some issues with your hormones, whcih could affect your fertility. But it can be a case to case basis too. My friend is also trying to get pregnant and she has a solitary cyst on her ovary. She is being treated with hormones as of the moment. Work closely with your doctor so that you can increase your chances of conceiving. I wish you the best.
