Are irregular periods okay?

Home Fertility test for someone with irregular periods.?

  • I have been having irregular periods for the past year and have been undergoing tests for it the past 6 months. I'm waiting on a fertility test from the doctor until I am diagnosed from my irregular periods. However last month I had a period after skipping 2 months and I also got it this month. Which 2 months in a row is unusual for me... I wanted to take a fertility test in 2 weeks. But I don't know how well it works. Can it detect fertility in people who have irregular periods? Or is it something that needs to be tested 2 weeks after a period? Also if I'm irregular... would I be able to test in one kit?

  • Answer:

The home fertility tests I have seen should be done on CD3, so three days after AF begins. They only detect levels of FSH in your urine, so if there were other problems it won't detect them. But that's great that you're going to the doctor to be checked so if there was anything else, more extensive tests should help discover them. But I hope everything is just fine, perhaps they will put you on meds to regulate your cycles. Best of luck & baby dust to you****
