How old do you have to be to get a job?

In most places you have to be 16, but it all depends on where you live.

I cant tellyou anything that hasn't been said about the job but the reason your mom won't take you shopping until after Christmas is probably cuz after Christmas everything is on sale. p.s. I'm 13 and I babysit day and night and my ('adult') neighbors joke about how 'rich' (I save every penny except the 10% I donate to charity) I am. Depending on who/where I am babysitting I get 5-10 dollars an hour....I like the day jobs cuz it's more fun but it's also more challenging consider babysitting at night, you basically get paid to sit and watch tv/do hw/eat etc............. the legal age to get a working permit in the United States is 14, so you could work anywhere that doesnt require you to have a degree, like at a restaurant or shop. until then, you cant get a "real" job, but you can get an off the books job, which is a private deal instead of a legal business job. you can do yard work, sell and deliver newspapers, do housework for neighbors, if you have any farms around you you only have to be 12 to get a work permit to work doing harvesting. if your parents own a business, you can work there. if you dont like any of these options, sometimes you have to sacrifice and do things you dont like to get what you want.
