How do I get on a regular sleep schedule?

How to get my 2 year old on the right schedule to sleep. i think his days and night are mixed up. needs help.?

    This totally happened to me when I was a kid. I got my days and nights mixed up and they about had it. What my parents ended up doing was they kept me up all night no matter how much I protested and they kept me up for the rest of the following day. Lets just say by the time it was night again I fell asleep very easily and never got my nights and days mixed up again.

I've only heard of newborns getting their days and nights mixed up. It would appear you do not have your child on any schedule. Does he go to bed at the same time every night or do you let him do whatever he wants and fall asleep whenever? Does he have to get up in the mornings? You need to create a schedule. Bedtime at 8 or 9 and both of you get up by 8 am. Get out of the house and keep him busy all day. Don't let him sleep. After a few days of that, he'll be ready for bed at a decent hour.

Tire him out when he's awake; let him run around a lot. Or take him to the pediatrician because he might have chronic fatigue syndrome.

I would recommend a book called Babywise. It's a parenting book with a premise on getting your kids to sleep at night. There is also a book titled Toodlerwise but it is building on the principles taught in their first book Babywise. This book was a real life saver for me and my wife.

just shut the lights and dont go to him if he wakes up and he might go back to sleep that way
