What is a good jacket for Michigan Winter?

Excellent winter jacket for toddler?

• I am looking for a cute, warm, quality winter jacket for my little guy. He's 17 months old. Last year, we got him a a snowsuit (one piece) from GAP. It was down (it gets cold here!!) and it was just a nice, simple brown. Looking for something warm, just a jacket- not the whole one-piece thing...I'll get separate snow pants. Simple...nice looking, good quality. I checked out GAP already- and while I think they few jackets they have out are OK, I'd like to check my options before making a purchase. I know it's kinda early and lots of places don't have their winter selection in full swing...but last year, we waited and waited and suddenly it was cold and we didn't have a warm jacket!! I had to race out to buy one fast!! Any ideas...or any suggestions of places I can look online in the upcoming weeks? Also- I am looking for places you might know about that are less obvious than GAP, Old Navy, Children's Place, Jack and Janie...I already know of all those places!!

  I live where it gets REALLY cold, and I know the brand Columbia is extrememly well made and very warm. They usually have thick wind/water resistant outer layer and a warm fleece liner that can be zipped in or out. They're also very washable, which is nice. We've tried other brands but, usually my whole family ends up in this brand.
