How much should a 2 year old iguana eat?

How to get my 2 1/2 year old to eat new foods?

  • My 2 1/2 year old just wont even try or taste the food. The only foods he really eats are the Heinz little kids can food, spaghetti bolognaise or beef risotto. He will eat mashed potatoes but only by them self Ive tried mixing other veges in but he just wont go near it. He wont try any fruits or veges or even home cooked meals. I need some new ways to help him have a better diet and to eat properly any ideas?

  • Answer:

He's not to get anything he likes until he eats whatever you put on his plate. If he won't eat what you put in front of him, oh well..he can go hungry until the next meal. No more of the junk food y'all have been spoiling him with. You all gave him control. No more of that. Box all the junk food up and donate it to a food pantry, and only buy healthy stuff. He can have candy or whatever once a week. Edit: The cookbook thing is fine, but then it still won't teach your child to eat veggies by themselves, etc. And it also means you again are catering to the child. My parents didn't have time for that foolishness. My parents had two special diets to deal with, and had no time for picky eaters. We ate what was in front of us, or we went hungry.

Just keep putting the things on his plate... limit the bad foods, put a little bit of speghetti and a whole lot of veggies on his plate. Once he is done eating the good stuff.. he will eventually try the "bad stuff" <veggies lol> I suggest you get the book the sneaky chef. She teaches TON of ways to use ordinary veggies and fruits in just about everything.. even cupcakes. So will he not eat homemade speghetti? Or try getting the organic heart healthy sauces.. those are as good as homemade and LOADED with veggies and nutrients. Start buying or making the homemade versions of those things. Those little meals, like chef boyarde and stuff are not healthy for you... they have tons of sodium fat, calories and processed materials in them. Make your own with whole wheat pastas and your own heart healthy sauces. If he still is bothered.. SAVE the containers that the stuff comes in and put your own in them.. he will think he is getting the junk but not. Even so though. the only person who can change it is YOU. only offer healthy thigns form now ona nd thats it! Also research fun ways to make the food. they sell these plates called "silly face plates" and the kids can take all the veggies and make a weird face on this guy.. its really neat and a fun way for kids to eat their veggies.
