Itchy rash but non visible bumps?

Rash/Bumps on my 20 month old?

  • My twenty month old had a fever on Friday (low grade) and it quickly went away (and never came back) after the administration of Tylenol and a lukewarm bath. But on Saturday he developed a rash/bumps that concerns me. It started out just on his bottom (and I thought it was a bad case of diaper rash), but then within a hour or two the rash/bumps spread to his legs (especially on his knees), feet and hands and a few random ones elsewhere. It started out as red and bumpy (not hot to the touch and "poofy"), the bumps varying in size, but later some of the bumps turned into blister looking bumps (clear fluid in the center). Now, as of Sunday, it has stopped spreading it seems and the bumps still remain non-itchy, but they don't seem to be healing or going away yet. I'm just curious what they could be from, what the bumps/rash are or what illness (if any) he has. I have looked at countless sites to try and figure out what this could be, but he doesn't seem to fit any of the criteria. And he still is acting as if nothing is wrong with him, he's not acting as if he's sick or anything. It just hurts me to look at his little rash covered body. I just want to find out if anyone's had anything similar happen to their children or to someone they know, and what it turned out to be? I cant bring him to the doctor until Monday. (And no, he has not had any shots recently.)

  • Answer:

Bring him to the doc on Monday. In the meantime, get a rash cream.
