Ideas for my twins Birthday party?

Ideas for backyard fun birthday party?

  • My twins will be two on November 1st so it shouldn't be too chilly here in Atlanta (at least it hasn't been the last couple of years). I'd like to have a "backyard fun" birthday party (bounce house/moonwalk, sandbox, slide/climb set, punch balloons, etc) especially since the twins love being outside. Does this sound like an okay idea? I'd also like to do something creative for the invitations so ideas would be great. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Balloon Drops are a lot of fun! They should have a lot of fun with this. This site has a video and article on how to make your own. (it is about half way down the page) http://www.alleventsadviser.com/cgi/artman2/search.cgi?action=search&keywordSearchFields=keyword&keyword=DIY_Parties_Birthdays&perpage=100 Pinatas and bouncy castles are also a lot of fun for the littler ones. Setting up a circus/carnival theme would be a lot of fun. Here are some ideas on that whole theme: http://www.alleventsadviser.com/birthdays/Birthday-Party-Ideas-for-a-Circus-Theme-325.php It sounds like you are going all out! I would take a lot of pictures (or nominate someone for this job) and make a Birthday CD with all of them when you are done to send out with Thank You notes. Most computers have programs to easily make a slide show with music. Happy Birthday to your Twins!

Also check the Family Fun magazine's website. We did the carnival theme for my son's fifth birthday and it was a blast. We made a home made ticket booth out of a refrigerator box. We hired a teenage neighbor girl to come do face painting. That was a big hit for the kids and really easy. We had the moonwalk/bounce thing in the backyard, but we also threw in some old classics like sack races and musical chairs. I kept the food simple, like hotdogs, popcorn and cupcakes. We also made a homemade picture board. We had a big piece of old plywood and made a frame for it so it woud stand up. We painted a clown on it and had a hole cut out where his face would be. The kids loved getting their pics taken there. I used the pictures in the thank you notes when we sent them out. On the picture board, you could probably use canvas fabric and paint on that. It would be easy to hang up for pictures.

Sounds great, Im having a carnival party for my son with the same stuff your having, check the Parents Magazine website and in the search box type Carnival they have really cute inexpensive ideas for backyard fun

try helium baloons, sports ie. baseball depending on the size of back yard, babmitten or volleyball, small kids pool! good barbecue hamburgers, hot dogs or bacon wraped in hot dogs!
