How long does primrose oil usually take to ripen the cervix?

My poor unfavorable cervix?

  • I went to my doctor this morning and had a vaginal exam where they told my that I had a very unfavorable cervix for delivery. She said I was closed up tight and still very high and firm. I was trying to look up ways to help ripen my cervix. I just really don't want to have to have a c-section unless 100% necessary, so I'm willing to do anything to have her naturally. I have read that evening primrose oil can help ripen the cervix, but that it won't work unless you have contractions also because that's what really makes the cervix open and thin. So I read that raspberry leaf tea and cinnamon stick tea can help with toning your uterus and somewhat making contractions to maybe help open the cervix also. Have any of you tried any of this and has it worked for you? Also, where do you get these things or make the teas at home? Any advise will help. I am not trying to induce myself, I am just extremely afraid of having a c-section and want to avoid it in any way possible. Any side-effects that can happen, please let me know also. Btw I am 38 weeks 5 days. Thanks in advance!
