What does heartburn feel like?

What does heartburn actually feel like?

  • Aside from the obvious. And how long after concieving do you get them? I'm 8 weeks at the moment, and getting really bad headaches, and on and off sickness feeling. Not too bad, as I'm not being sick.. yet. Thanks, Lisa.Rr x

You most likely won't have hurtburn until the end of your 2nd trimester, around 25 weeks....It feels like hot acid burning the back of your throat, like throw up about to come out when you lay down and the most awful tasting burps! lol...Tums will b ur best friend.

It burns in your upper stomach and into you throat, usually something you eat triggers it... Like dairy products. I got the heartburn off and on during pregnancy, around 12 weeks thought I had what was heartburn, turned out I was just lactose intolerant. Now at 38 weeks, I get heartburn from just drinking water sometimes. I think my hormones play a part in when I get heartburn, because it's not all the time. For your headaches, take tylenol.. If you doc says its ok. I found that prenantal massages also help with my headaches.

You might never get it. I have it every day and have since about six weeks. My Tums are never far from reach. It's like a burning in your throat, sometimes it feels like you're about to be sick. It's not fun and I'm ready to be done with it, but I have 16 weeks left!

A really uncomfortable ache in your chest/stomach...you can get heartburn at anytime even without pregnancy...I never got it with pregnancy.

It can feel like your chest is really painful, like pinching kind of. It can also be less noticable with a sensitive gag reflex, or acid reflux feeling in your chest or throat. I get it from mild to terrible, and tums helps, as well as sitting or laying propped up, and eating bland healthy foods (I like spicey chicken wings, but during this pregnancy..its not an option.) Good luck, hope your gummy bear goes full term :)

oh i was 6 weeks when i started getting heartburn and it got worse between 8-10 weeks. Then all of a sudden it went away.It didnt matter what i ate the burning sensation was always at the throat and i could not stop burping,it sucked. I didnt get headaches until 14 weeks and that lasted a few days then went away too.I am still getting the on and off sickness, mostly in the morning but it is more of naseau without vomitting. It has been like this since week 4. i am currently 18 weeks

Got it with my second baby. It is like you get a burning feeling in your chest up to your throat like you want to be sick almost - nasty. Gaviscon - best invention ever!

All pregnancies are different, not everyone gets heartburn or nausea. Read this page to explain what heartburn feels like. http://heartburn.about.com/b/2004/07/24/what-does-heartburn-feel-like-2.htm

Im 35 weeks and just now starting to get heartburn... It feels like my chest is on fire... extremely uncomfortable feeling.

It feels like some one is putting a cigarette out on the breast bone between your boobs but inside you. It gets worse if you lye down.
