Pot Belly Pigs - Do you know any Interesting Facts about them?

Smoking pot/ciggs while pregnant FACTS.?

  • Ok I'm 24 weeks pregnant and I can't even drink a soda with out feeling like the worst Mom..lol..but one of my good friends is 15 weeks pregnant and she has continued to smoke ALOT of pot and at least a pack of ciggs every 2 days and she has NO plan on stopping.. I try and talk to her all the time about the harm that its doing to her baby- but I don't have any facts to back it up.. I know its just..WRONG and she won't even consider listening to me unless I have some facts of some sort...I guess me just saying "this is bad for your baby-would you ever hold a cigg up to your newborns mouth so they can smoke it?" doesn't suit her. Anybody know ANYTHING about the harmfull effects of smoking pot and ciggaretts while pregnant? I know my friend will regret this in the end and I just want her to quit sooner than later ):

This makes me so angry!!! Its the one time in your life you cant be selfish like for F sakes this girl should not be a mother... Smoking marijuana during pregnancy may affect your baby's growth and the development of his nervous system. Studies have shown that children who were exposed to marijuana during pregnancy sometimes have problems focusing their attention and solving problems. So she is smoking weed for herself and saying i dont care about my baby...i dont care about the life long issues im causing this poor helpless baby that never asked for this. if this was my friend...there would be no friendship i would report it. its 9 months you cant stop for 9 short months??!! god im mad im ranting now

Research it on Google lots of information on there. I think it's really immature to be smoking pot/drinking while pregnant. Really selfish. Hope she stops soon!

I'm not really sure on the facts. But I know for a fact that my best friend smoked ciggs throughout her pregnancy and there were a lot of breathing complications with her baby after she gave birth. But I also have a friend who smoked pot for awhile while pregnant and was fine. But I in no wa Condone of that nonsense. I wouldn't even want to risk my baby's health

They really have no hard core proff of what it can do, but it can potentially cause breathing problems etc. My biological mother smoked pot, ciggs, drank and some other drugs (not sure what) while pregnant with me. I was born 6 weeks early, I weighed 6lbs3oz (maybe just 6lbs). i had to be kept in an incubator for 1 month, I had jaundice, heart problems (not sure exactly what, I think just palpitations), breathing problems, I was hooked up to a monitor because I would stop breathing and I had fetal alcohol affect (it is like fetal alcohol syndrome but less severe). That's just what i can remember off the top of my head. So yeah because of what I have been through I would never smoke pot/ciggs during pregnancy. I have had 1 alcoholic beverage (doc gave me permission as long as it was only 5 % or less) in each of my pregnancies and both of my kids turned out fine Sadly there is nothing you can do to make her stop.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can say that will make her stop. She has to know the affects from these actions by now but chooses not to care, or not to care enough. I went from a pack a day to 4-5 cigarettes a day when I was pregnant with my now 3 year old daughter. I was very selfish and thought my smoking wouldn't affect her even though it does. Luckily she was completely healthy, born after her due date and 8lbs. She was healthier than my now 9 year old son who I did quit smoking during pregnancy with. I am 13 weeks with my third and quit smoking, not as early as I should have but I did completely quit and I am so happy. I do not know the affects of smoking weed while pregnant. I know that it can be medically prescribed in certain states during pregnancy for severe nausea and weight loss from morning sickness, and I am personally not against marijuana, but I still wouldn't do it while pregnant. Best of luck and I hope your friend's child is born healthy.

tell her to put the baby up for adoption, give the baby a chance at a good life.

I agree with you, I'd never do that but there's really only a certain time period that they can really hurt the baby. After so long their organs have mostly developed and there is less of a chance, but still some. I had a friend who smoked weed her entire two last terms because she couldn't eat, her doctor made her do it to make the baby gain weight. But I still say eff that she's stupid. In her case, she probably needs reminded that the medical expense of taking care of a deformed, disabled child will probably cut in to her pot and cigs allowance.
