Do you think I will get an ultrasound?

I had an ultrasound this past Tuesday and?

• i am 36 weeks and 6 days today. i have GD and so my doctor did another ultrasound to check and see how big my baby is right now. the lady who did the ultrasound said that my baby was already weighing in around 6lbs. and 10oz. and that he could go 6oz difference either way. so he is pushing 7 lbs already. after the ultrasound i had to have a non stress test on my baby, which i do those twice a week now, and after that my doctor came in to talk to me. he said that the baby was bigger right now then what they would normally like to see, so i asked him how much bigger did he think my baby would get and he said depending on how much longer my pregnancy goes he could gain 1-2 more pounds before it is over with.. i am worried about being made to go to my due date and him getting way too big for me to have him vaginally. no one has said anything so far about inducing me ahead of time, but isn't that generally what they would do if they thought my baby would get to big by waiting until my due date? do you think that they may induce me earlier? i haven't even been checked yet to see if i am dilated or not, they said i would be checked at my next visit.. what happens if i am already dilating? i almost know that i am because i have really hard strong false contractions pretty much on and off all day long. i am just trying to figure out what i can expect since it does seem that he is already pretty big, and he will obviously continue to grow, so do you think they will make me wait, or how soon do you think they will consider inducing me? will me being dilated make a difference in that decision as well?

  I dont think that's that big at all. At 34w4d I had an u/s and she was weighing 5lbs8oz Dr said that was good. He said that I was right in line for a 7.5 - 8lb baby. He said he didn't think she would be bigger than 8lbs (we'll see). I don't have gd either. they gain about .5lbs a week now, so by 37wks 4days she should be right around 7lbs ish. maybe a little bigger. They really don't gain 1/2 lb a week the last 2 weeks. They are too squished in there. I wouldn't worry. You are due in 2 weeks. Which means even if he did gain 1/2 lb a week you would have about a 7lb 10oz baby - perfect. I wouldn't worry. Sounds totally normal to me!!! Good luck!
